2024 Year End Review
2024 was Wirespeed’s first year of existence and this is a quick summary of everything we accomplished:

We founded Wirespeed, then came out of stealth, late summer 2024.

In a first for cybersecurity, we took on the awesome goal of COMPLETELY eliminating the role of SOC Analyst. Not reducing the workload of SOC Analysts by some percentage, not augmenting the people in SOC Analyst roles, not outsourcing SOC Analysts to another company … ELIMINATING SOC Analysts, so those people can move into more valuable roles like incident response, threat hunting, engineering, or even governance.

We proved we could actually accomplish this goal by displacing a major MDR provider at HALF THEIR PRICE (!), crushing that incumbent with our speed & accuracy, and giving our customers an experience to rave about without a single SOC Analyst—just world-class engineering. <-- Click that link and read their reviews!

In another first for cybersecurity, we shook off the norms of MDR providers, broke the “Fourth Wall of Cyber” and started talking directly to end users over Slack, Teams, Email, and SMS, to get final resolutions on difficult cases.

Then, when breaking that Fourth Wall of Cyber, we completely contained a likely BEC or Ransomware threat actor in 214 seconds, from the time they stole credentials to the time the user’s sessions were killed and credentials safely rotated. This is another HUGE first for cybersecurity!

In yet another first for cybersecurity, we became the first MDR provider that lets you: spin up a fully-featured free trial, get transparent pricing, and choose to buy and pay for the service, without talking to a salesperson (unless you want to).

Because we didn’t do enough first for cybersecurity things, we also introduced an ISO standard quality methodology that’s been used by other industries for 80 years, and made it a cornerstone of how Wirespeed operates.

Somehow, while building a brand new, automated MDR platform from scratch, launching it as official GA, onboarding our first customers and prospects in dozens of tenants, and crushing bad guys … we still managed to find time to write over 25 technical blogs that capture how we’re thinking about these problems.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, in our final first for cybersecurity in 2024, we averaged 717ms … read that again … 717ms … to ingest, triage, and assign a verdict (Mean Time To Verdict) to all cases across all live detections we triaged on the platform in 2024. ⚡Nobody is faster.
- Count all of those “firsts for cybersecurity” above. At least 6 completely novel and new things you just can’t find anywhere else, and they’re all here in a single brand new security startup.
